Average, but OK for price. Owner has three lovely street rescued dogs, does his best,

Very cheap value for money stay. Host is fantastic, provide 1 fan for each person in room. Does his best, but booking . com have stuffed up his address on website, and taxis take guests to entirely different address which must be frustrating and Zi urge booking Dotcom to sort out this problem for him.

Cartagena and surrounding area extremely filthy with rubbish, streets dirty, and when I was there, extremely noisy loud music all day Sunday to early hours of Monday morning. Didn't want to spend more time, moved on to Beautiful paradise playa del Ritmo beach hostel and bar in Santa Marta, where don't want to keave!

Nice but shabby. You'll always have an audience when your eating at the three dogs!

Everything was fine a little bit unkept but most hostels are in Colombia. The dogs were nice to have around if your a dog person which I am. It would be a bit strange going to a hostel called the three dogs if you don't like dogs...

The room that I stayed in was right next to a main road and there wasn't much time when there was something noisy going past and thats in the middle of the night as well. There wasn't much outside space that you could use easily.

Feels like home

I can only recommend this hostel! I liked the atmosphere (small, convivial, friendly) and the local neighborhood very much. Oscar and his current volonteer Jorge are always up for a chat, giving hints and will help you where ever they can. One of my best hostel experiences in Colombia so far, felt like home! A/C was very appreciated and nice area to hang out. Kind, crazy dogs and a good kitchen at your disposal.

Only disadvantage: the neighborhood is not very safe after nightfall, so you'll need to take a taxi to go anywhere.

No good reason to pick this over the center for me

Owner is a nice and smiling guy. The price was low - for a double with bathroom it was exactly like 2 beds in a common room in the center (which now I know would have been a better choice).

There are 3 dogs which are kept (at night at least) into a locked inner court. They use this court to do their needs, so all place smells a bit like dogs and their excrements. The street and area are shadier than I thought. Room wasn't really clean, bed sheets had surely been used before and not washed.

Stay in the old city if you can

Stuff is very friendly and helpful. Location is ok, there is a direct bus to the bus station. Bathroom is ok too.

Beds are very uncomfortable. Internet often barely works. Dorm room gets really hot at night I could barely breath or sleep.

Very nice hostel- Bad Neighbourhood

Hosts are very nice (Oscar drove me to an ATM in the night, thank you very much for that) AC Hammoks Nice hostel The neighbourhood isn t that cool but it is the only real negative thing you can say about this hostel

20 min walking to the city center At night you need to take a taxi(8.000COP) or a mototaxi(2.000COP) back to the hostel(as a group it s no problem) If to many people use the wifi it has problems (but that s not sooo bad) Kitchen could be more organised and cleaned
